Making of a Position Paper
The position paper is a one page document divided in three paragraphs. In this essay, the delegate explains the problematic in general, how it affects the country he or she represents, and the solutions the country proposes in order to solve the issue.
This document must be written in a diplomatic manner, avoiding the use of personal pronouns since the delegate is representing a country. Delegates will have the opportunity to read their position paper during the speakers´ list attaining to the agenda established by the whole committee.

Heading
Committee: Complete name of the committee (no abbreviations)
Topic (A/B): Full name of the topic
Country: Official name of the delegation
Delegate: Name of the student
School: Complete name of the institution the delegate is from
1st Paragraph
In the first paragraph, delegates must give a brief explanation of the topic. Delegates can rely on the background paper, news, facts and statistics in order to explain the matter. This paragraph is the shortest one since all delegates must know the history of the topic.
2nd Paragraph
In the second paragraph, delegates must explain how is the problematic affecting his/her country. Delegates may explain what is their country doing to solve the issue, what is its opinion, and if they have policies or regulations to deal with this matter.
3rd Paragraph
In the third paragraph, delegates must give a clear explanation of their solutions. Their proposals must be creative, realistic and helpful for all countries that are affected by this issue. Delegates may use previous worldwide agreements, policies, international laws, non-governmental organizations, etc.
*All delegates must use reliable sources given that false information will not be permited.
*All delegates must have references at the end of their position papers (MLA format is required).
*Plagiarism will be sanctioned.
